Do you sell gift cards?

Yes we do. You can find our gift cards in our SHOP section here.
Our Gift Cards come in denominations of $50 $100 $200 $300 $400 or $500 If you need to make up a specific amount for eg. $250 simplyadd the $200 voucher and the $50 voucher into the shopping cart. A customer care representative will then be in touch within 24hrs via email to finalise the details of your voucher.

What leather do you use?

The Leather that we use at The Bag Department comes from various cow hides that are 100% authentic. Our Leather is sourced from all over the world from Italy to the USA to ensure it’s of the highest quality. To learn more about Leather Care please click here.

At The Bag Department we accept payments via Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal.

How do I change my order after it has been placed?

You can change your order while it is still being processed but once it is shipped it is unfortunately out of our control. You can track your order in your Account at any time. As we ship within 24 hours of receiving an order (on weekdays) we recommend that you email us immediately at orders@thebagdepartment.com.au for any changes. Because we are 100% sure you will love your new bag you have 21 days, from your bags arrival, to exchange or to get a full refund. Please see WHAT IS YOUR RETURNS POLICY below for more information on how to return an item.

How long will my bag take to arrive?

At The Bag Department we understand how important it is to receive your order within a timely fashion. That’s why we always ship within 24 hours of receiving an order and offer Free shipping with tracking and signature on delivery on orders over $69 within Australia using Australia Post. Orders $69 and under will be posted Registered Australia Post with no tracking. We also provide worldwide shipping on all orders outside of Australia using Australia Post for a flat rate of AU$30. Please note that sale items will be sent with Free Parcel Post shipping with tracking and signature on delivery within Australia.

Australian orders placed on business days will be dispatched within 24 hours and delivered within 2-10 business days. International orders placed on business days will be dispatched within 24 hours and delivered within 10-15 business days.

Any orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be dispatched the next business day. Please note delivery timeframes are a guide only and The Bag Department cannot be held responsible for delays due to payment authorisation or by destination customs clearance processes.

What are your delivery methods and costs?

At The Bag Department the shipping of your order will always be on us. We are firm believers that the price of your items should be the final cost. We ship via Parcel post on orders over $69 so someone must be at your nominated shipping address to sign for your parcel. We are unable to redirect orders once items have been dispatched.

Note: For orders delivered outside of Australia, we do not cover import taxes and duties.

What happens if I don’t like my bag once it arrives?

At The Bag Department your happiness is of utmost importance to us. That is why we offer full refunds within 21 days of your bags arrival.

What is your returns policy?

At The Bag Department your happiness is of utmost importance to us. That is why we offer full refunds within 21 days of your bags arrival.

Terms of returns:

  • Item must be unused and in resalable condition
  • Item must be in original packaging
  • You must contact us at returns@thebagdepartment.com.au to let us know of your intentions and to receive return instructions.
  • You only need to pay for the return shipping fee
  • We require the returned goods to have a tracking number so that we can ensure they arrive safely 
  • If your item arrives faulty or is deemed to have a manufacturing fault contact us as soon as possible so we can rectify the problem.

At our discretion we will do one of the following for an item deemed faulty:

  • We will fix it for you
  • We will replace it for you
  • We will issue a full refund plus your return shipping expense
  • Damage caused by wear and tear is not considered faulty

Refunds can only be credited back to the credit card that was used to make the original purchase. The refund will be processed as soon as the bag has been received and inspected by The Bag Department. Please allow 14 days for your account to be credited.

How do I track my order?

You can track your order through Australia Post at www.auspost.com.au/track When your item is dispatched from our head office you will receive email notification with a tracking number. With this tracking number you will be able to go to the Australia Post website and track your order. Please make sure someone is available to sign for your package upon its arrival (Australia and overseas countries where available.)

Is the bag department a secure shopping site?

The Bag Department uses GeoTrust Secure Socket Layering (SSL) which is the industry standard technology for encryption. SSL encrypts and protects information sent to us over the internet. When SSL is enabled a padlock will appear in the browser showing that the site is in a secure mode. The normal ‘http:’ will also change to ‘https:’ indicating that the site is in secure mode.

Are my personal details safe with the bag department?

The short answer is yes. We will never store your credit card details as we use eWAY. eWAY is Australia’s leading e-commerce merchant and they process all of our credit card transactions. All other submitted information remains strictly private. We only keep personal details so that you can receive your bag securely and so that we can stay in touch. We will never sell your information or pass it on without your consent. If at any stage you would like to be removed from our mailing list please log in to your Account and select to be unsubscribed.

How do I update my profile details?

To update your profile details please go to ‘My Account’ and select the ‘edit’ option next to your details. You may need to Log In first if you haven’t already. Once you press ‘save’ your details will be updated in our system.
